MPX5160716: 1300 year old Anglo Saxon gold cross found by farm worker Basil Wright (not pictured), in Thurnham, Kent. Mr Wright spotted a tiny gold cross in a field and now is in line for a one third share of £5000. MPX5160788: Lerwick Up Helly Aa festival is a tradition that originated in the 1880s. Since then the festival has been an annual occurrence in the Shetland calendar. Our Picture Shows. The Up Helly Aa procession. After nightfall the replica Viking long ship galley is dragged through the streets of the town in a torchlight procession. The torchbearers are the members of all the guizer squads , led by the Jarl Squad. Each squad chooses a theme and dresses accordingly. MPX5160073: Highwire walker Rudi Omankowsky, crossed the 320 yards of the Cheddar Gorge blindfolded. 450 feet at the highest end, 380 feet at the lower end. MPX5160674: Guitarist Mrs Eileen Henderson lead the singing at Longley Baptist church holiday club. About 90 children have been attending the club each day during the week of activities-with scarecrows as the main theme. Children, under the supervision of Deacon Allen Douglas, Mrs. Jean Bareham and other church workers have been taking part in games, craft work and Bible study.
