MPX5138504: The Hollies drummer, Bobby Elliott, paid a visit to the new GRAMMY Museum exhibition in Liverpool. And the Sixties star reminisced about his part in the British Invasion of America in the early 1960s which was led by fellow bands like The Beatles, Kinks and Rolling Stones. The 72-year-old has loaned a number of items of The Hollies memorabilia to the show, including a Biba shirt from the 60s, album covers, promotional material, postcards and even a special Ludwig 400 snare drum which he played on most of the bands records during the decade. He said: Its a real joy. Ive got a barn full of this stuff at home so for someone to take it off my hands is great because it means we can spring clean! MPX5138537: Sir Oswald Ernald Mosley, 6th Baronet (16 November 1896 - 3 December 1980) was an English politician, known principally as the founder of the British Union of Fascists (BUF). He was a Member of Parliament for Harrow from 1918 to 1924, for Smethwick from 1926 to 1931 and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster in the Labour Government of 1929-31, a position he resigned due to his disagreement with the Labour Government's unemployment policies. He then formed the New Party which merged with the BUF (which included the Blackshirts) in 1932. 8th December 1932 (b/w photo) / Bridgeman Images
MPX5138539: It has seen better days, but a record-breaking tandem from the 1930s is set to be restored to its former glory. The bicycle still holds the time trial record for a tandem ride from Berwick to Newcastle - and back. On May 5, 1935, Hugo Lloyd Caris, of Hexham, and his fellow rider - known only as R Johnson - took 5hrs 52mins to make the journey. In the years that followed, the tandem was used by Hugo - known to family and friends as Lloyd - and his family before it was packed away into a garage and forgotten about.
