It was the magic moment that climaxed a rapturous welcome home for the Cup winners. More than 250,000 fans turned out to greet them, and their coach was cheered all along the 10-mile route from Birmingham, Warkwickshire, where they arrived by train from London, to West Bromwich. Outside the Town Hall, there were fantastic scenes as police struggled to control a 10,000 crowd.
