CUL4882871: PRIMO DE RIVERA, Jose Antonio (1903-1936). Spanish lawyer, nobleman, politician, and founder of the Falange Espanola ('Spanish Phalanx'). Military accused of conspiracy and rebellion against the government of the Second Spanish Republic and sentenced to death. He got finally executed during the first months of the Spanish Civil War. At the end of the Civil War, the body was exhumed and carried on the shoulders from Alicante to El Escorial to honor him. Once the Basilica of the Valle de los Caidos was built, Francisco Franco ordered to bury the body there. Albacete (24/11/1939), the provincial head of Spanish Falange Fulgencio Lozano, carrying the coffin of the remains of Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera on his shoulders. Photography. SPAIN. A great numbers of his films have won many international awards. Francisco Rabal in the shooting of the movie “” Llanto por un bandido”” playing the character of Jose Maria “” El Tempranillo”””, Spanish bandit of the nineteenth century who fought the military forces of the absolutist Fernando VII and gave his support to the liberals, attacking diligences and challenging the monarch himself.
