MME4065555: Bratislava, 2010. Statue of St. Elizabeth of Hungary (1207-1231) outside the Bratislava Castle. She was the daughter of king Andrew II and his wife Gertrude and spent her childwood at Bratislava Castle. After the death of her husband, Ludwig of Turingia, she took a vow of poverty and devoted her life to others, particularly the poor and the sick. Canonized in 1235, she is revered by the sisters of St. Elizabeth as theirs patroness / Bridgeman Images
