The king of Sweden Oscar II (1829-1907) received explorers Nils Adolf Erik (Eric) Baron Nordenskjold (Nordenskiold) (1832-1901) and Lieutenant Palander at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. In 1878 Nordenskjold passed from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean along the coast of Siberia. Engraving in “” Le Monde Illustré”” n°1206 of 8 April 1880.
