ZUM4884080: Oct. 10, 1953 - Carpet Portraits of the Queen and Queen Mary Mr. J.C.Varney, an employes in the carpet department of Drucas, the Baker -street store, has just completed a carpet portrait of the queen some time ago he did a similar portrait of queen nary. The portraits are life - size and copied from photographs. They are worked i Wilton carpeting. A section of the red yard was unpicked then the 60,000 tufts which form the queen's portrait were woven in. Queen Mary's portrait had 45,000 tufts woven in / Bridgeman Images
