Hazel Florez (b. 1984) is a UK artist based in a London. She graduated at Edinburgh University and the Edinburgh college of Art from the MA Fine Art program in 2007. She works with a range of mediums including oil, pen and ink, mixed media collage, photography, installation, and costume. She has her work published in two volumes with The Library of Esoterica by Taschen, "Sacred Sites" 2024, and "Mystical Beasts" 2026. Hazel Florez writes for The World of Interiors Magazine. She has given talks at a range of different centres of research, including the Jung Club, the College of Psychic Studies, the Magickal Women's Conference, and Oxford University.
Hazel Florez's paintings act as portals to Otherworlds, which dispense with the logical and predictable order of things. Her interest in folklore, mythology, mystical symbolism, hermeticism and alchemy, informs her practice through the study of different esoteric philosophies. She is influenced by many of the twentieth century female surrealists and has a curiosity with the world of dreams, the subconscious and Jungian archetypes.
