Biography
‘From a very early age, I created scenes with images of my own imagination; gradually, over many years, with growing knowledge of art practices, art history and my own life experiences, this developed into my work as it is now. I would describe my paintings as visual symphonies of colour, subject and composition. My ultimate goal is to convey the evocative power of nature, and, to this end, my paintings reflect a preoccupation with landscape, natural forms, study of colour and forms of light. The eye will sometimes discover intriguing surreal overtones, perhaps through influences by artists such as De Chirico. However, there has always been an attempt on my part to make paintings timeless: I want to create a sense of earthly wholeness to all of the elements in my paintings, and the sense that this should be so in our own vision of our planet.’
