Kevin Parrish is a traditional oil painter, self taught, sometimes venturing into surreal, and inspired by the natural beauty of life in the
world around him. His genre of artwork is often an extension of his hobbies and interests including steam railways, creating portrait montages, music montages, science fiction, famous landmarks, the celestial and the natural world.
Born, Birmingham UK in 1953 Kevin spent his formative years in the county of Warwickshire and has been painting professionally since 1995.
Kevin has since developed distinctive styles with portraiture, figurative, landscape scenes, including railways and canals. Kevin has been a Full member of the Guild of Railway Artists since 2018 after joining the Guild in 1993.
His railway paintings are exhibited with the Guild once a year at the Kidderminster Railway Museum next to the Severn Valley Railway in
Worcestershire England. His artwork has found global markets and is in private collections in UK and overseas and has been published in books, magazines, calendars and merchandise including greeting cards and jigsaw puzzles.
He has had extensive press coverage over the years and has won artistic awards.
He had two sell out exhibitions at Warwick Studios in Leamington Spa Warwickshire during 2006 and 2008 and was Resident Artist there meeting art lovers from the UK and around the globe.
Also in 2006 Kevin created three pieces of art at Warwick Studios which were later published in the form of a Limited Print Run by Buckingham Fine Arts. From 2009 until its closure in 2018, he exhibited with the prestigious Mitchell Gallery based in Warwick creating black and white night scenes of historic Warwick in moonlight.
Here he had another sell out exhibition in 2009 and it was called The Warwick Collection
These night scenes led to the Mayor of Warwick in 2014 to commission him to create an oil painting of the famous Court House building restored around the same time.
This became a major charity event in the town promoting the painting through framed prints. Kevin is now a regular exhibitor with the LSA (Leamington Studio
Artists) based in Leamington Spa where he lives. Kevin has undertaken numerous commissions over the years and he has always considered it an honour to do so.
