Biography
Mike White, also known as Michael White, is an American artist born in 1970 in Pasadena, California. He is best known for his abstract paintings that explore the relationship between color, form, and texture. White studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and later received his MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles. White's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. His paintings are characterized by their bold use of color and gestural brushstrokes, which create a sense of movement and energy on the canvas. In addition to his painting practice, White is also a filmmaker and screenwriter. He has written and directed several films, including the critically acclaimed comedy-drama "School of Rock" starring Jack Black. White's diverse artistic pursuits reflect his passion for exploring different mediums and pushing the boundaries of traditional art forms.
